‘Morbius’ Release Date Postponed to Spring
Fans of the vampire are going to have to wait a few more months to see the vampire on screen. Morbius‘ release date postponed to April.
The shuffle has begun again thanks to the omicron variant. Morbius is the first from the big studios to shift dates because crowds are starting to thin again. Box office revenue just got a big boost from Spider-Man: No Way Home, but if folks are scared to go to theaters the money is going to dry up.

“I think it’s a wait-and-see. I think some of the opening dates coming up may change a little because we are just really watching, with the pandemic, as far as people’s behavior and Omicron.”
Other early winter releases you should keep an eye on are Scream, Moonfall, Death on the Nile, Uncharted. All of which may stand a better chance this summer or with a splashy digital release.
Morbius Moves to April 1st
The movie is on shaky ground because it’s focused on a lesser-known character. For fans, the trailers have been so-so. A schedule shift to make sure the core audience will buy tickets is a good choice.
One of the most compelling and conflicted characters in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. At first, it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?
The cast is led by Jared Leto. It also includes Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. Morbius is directed by Daniel Espinosa, who is best known his the space horror Life.
