Warhammer 40,000: New Plastic Aeldari Guardians Announced
It’s been a LONG time coming. Say hello to the new Aeldari Plastic Guardians!
Games Workshop has dubbed this one the “Path of the Preview” and I can see why. Check out this new teaser and feast your eyes on the new plastic Guardians!
How long has it been since we got new plastic Aeldari Guardians? They came out well before we starting calling them Aeldari, that’s for sure! I’d have to check the sprue copyright on the old version but they might be legally allowed to drink in the US now. In anycase, check out these fantastic new plastics.
“The old Guardian squad has given us many years of faithful service, but this new kit improves upon these veteran miniatures, providing more dynamic poses and more choices of weapons, heads,* and bodies.
* Including bare heads for those fans of Ynnead or those that don’t want to mess up their hair by wearing a helmet.
It’s good mix of poses and it’s nice to see the heavy weapon still around, too. I’m also glad that GW is including sculpts for the extra heads with and without helmets. There’s also a wide array of weapon options in the kit as evidenced from the other teaser picture. If you want a close-combat option they are going to have various swords and even a fusion gun option. Oh and speaking of new options…
“The new kit includes options to make either a squad of Guardian Defenders (including a heavy weapon platform) or a squad of Storm Guardians, with a new addition for the latter – a Serpent’s Scale Platform. The latter deflects incoming fire, allowing your squad to stroll nonchalantly across the battlefield before slicing their way through the younger races of the galaxy.”
That’s a cool sounding piece of wargear! I wonder what sorts of in-game benefits it has. Guess we’ll have to wait to find out. Gee, I wonder if there is some more new Aeldari stuff on the way in 2022. Couldn’t have anything to do with the teaser from Sunday, right?
What do you think of these new Guardians? I think they will slot in very nicely with the older sculpts and can’t wait to mix-and-match!
