2022 is shaping up to be a banner year for Warhammer 40K video games. Here are a few we’re looking forward to.
As the new year dawns bringing us ever closer to the grim darkness of the distant future, we look ahead to what we’re excited to play. 2022 is going to be a good year for Warhammer 40K games. Whether you’re taking command of massive army, a single team, or even just a space marine, there’s something for everyone. Here are the games we’re looking forward to in the grim darkness of 2022.
Warhammer 40K: Darktide
One of the most hotly anticipated games here at BoLS HQ, 40K: Darktide is Vermintide 2 but in Space. You play as a team of up to four players and face off against endless waves of enemies, Left 4 Dead style. With lasguns, Ogryns, and more, this game promises the grit of the grimdark up close and personal.
And as the year looks like it’ll be another great year for co-op, any game you can play with a friend who’s not there in person is a plus in our books.
Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters
Grey Knights meet XCom in a turn-based tactical game that looks like my own targeted ad. With customizable Grey Knights that you can outfit with a variety of weapons and powers to fight against an ever-shifting campaign that you might lose? What more could you want? Especially since early gameplay reveals destructible terrain.
And melee combat.
Warhammer 40K: Battlesector – Necron DLC
The Necrons are coming to Black Labs’ excellent turn-based strategy game. 40K: Battlesector released last summer and quickly became a favorite. You command squads of Blood Angels against Tyranids, develop them into an elite fighting force, and get overwhelmed by bugs. It’s everything you could want.
ion pack will add the Necron to Battlesector, allowing you to take command of their forces in Skirmish and Multiplayer battles as well as a brand new campaign of conquest.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2
Okay this is wishful thinking. Because the game was only announced last month, and there’s no way it’ll be done in 2022. But on the off chance that it is, we are hyped to play it.
Space Marine is a legendary game for a reason. It captured the feel of actually being a Space Marine in ways that few other games have even come close to. Now Space Marine 2 promises more and better. We keep throwing money at the screen but the game continues to not be released yet.
