A promotional video from Hasbro reveals a new D&D starter set: Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. Here’s what we know so far.

Exactly what it says on the tin folks. Yesterday, Hasbro put out a promotional video showcasing its upcoming consumer products. Alongside Nerf guns, Monopoly, and Peppa Pig, viewers got a look at a new D&D starter set.

It appears in brief but frequent snippets throughout the video. Titled Dragons of Stormwreck Isle, this new D&D starter set can be seen in the upper right corner of the image below.

At press time, no official announcement had been made. But given Amazon and WotC’s track record, details may emerge over the weekend. As for the starter set itself, this looks like other sets we’ve seen before, including the Lost Mines of Phandelver and the Essentials starter set.

Here you can see a closer look at the cover, which shows a Ranger and Monk fighting a Blue Dragon. And in the column you can just about make out the text Ability Checks. So it’s logical to assume that this is probably the same basic rules included in every starter set so far. Though with the Ranger and Monk making so prominent an appearance, we might get some more “advanced” pre-generated characters in the set.

Speaking of which, a Businesswire release from Hasbro reveals the new D&D starter set’s price and name:

It’s listed just after Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep in the press release. Perhaps once Call of the Netherdeep arrives, we’ll get more information about the release of the new D&D starter set.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for more information. This will probably slot in before the “summer” release, maybe in the April-May release window. So check back for more!

Happy Adventuring!
