Does it break the video game adaptation curse? Join the One of Us crew for their Uncharted review.

What’s Tom Holland gotta do to get a great role he’s perfectly cast in? Other than Spider-Man, of course.

Fans of the Uncharted video game series have been very loud since the casting was announced (with Tom as lead Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as his mentor/sidekick Sully), that these were weird choices. And I know fans can be obnoxious about this sort of thing, but here, Chris, Mike, Wright, and Drew felt they were right. It IS weird casting, and it DOESN’T really fit. But this is what we got.

The story follows a young (obviously) Drake first meeting Sully and going on an adventure to find the lost gold of Magellan in a race against time with a scheming rich guy (Antonio Banderas) and his #1 flunky (Tati Gabrielle).

Everybody constantly screws over everybody, Drake hangs off of pretty much everything in sight, and eventually, Drake and Sully start to trust and even like each other. It’s both not that far from the games and WAY off course at the same time.

The Uncharted Review

Our reviewers admit (except for Drew) that it was hard to be completely objective due to their huge love for the games, but they did their darndest to be fair.
