MCU: Charlie Cox Open to Daredevil Crossovers– Give These a Try
Sony & Marvel, cast this man in everything! Charlie Cox talks MCU crossovers– but where’s the best place for Daredevil to appear next?
While promoting his new AMC+ series Kin, Netflix’s own Daredevil Charlie Cox answered a few Marvel-related questions. The actor told Australia’s Supanova that he is very down to mask up as Daredevil again. What’s more, the actor expressed excitement about potential crossover events.
The super-sensory super-hero has teamed up with many characters in the comic book Marvel universe. There are plenty of opportunities for on-screen Daredevil team-ups. Here are a few of our faves.
This article contains spoilers for ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Hawkeye’. Be warned!
The Future of the MCU & Charlie Cox
In the interview, Cox confirmed no official future plans to appear as Daredevil in the MCU. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen. After all, we know that he’s been a secret-keeper before.
The actor did, however, have something to say about his preferences on the matter.
“I don’t know what their plans are, but yes, my hope is that I get to do as much as I’m allowed to do, and to be involved. And it’d be really fun, the one thing that being in the MCU allows that we couldn’t really do with the Netflix stuff, is that I can now interact with other MCU characters. So, that would be really cool. Crossovers is the thing I would like to do next. I don’t know what that looks like, and I don’t know what they’re planning and all that kind of stuff. But there are some really interesting stories there that I’d love for the character to explore.”
So how could Charlie find his way back onto the Marvel screen? Well, it’s not like I’ve been pining for it (okay, I have.) Two upcoming series seem likely for our next Charlie siting. The other two, well… it’s just what my nerdy little heart desires.
Daredevil in the MCU: She-Hulk
This upcoming legal-comedy is a natural place for Matt to appear. Both heroes are a wiz in the courtroom– and we already know that plenty of characters will appear in the upcoming series.
Rumors are already flying around about this potential collab. Some say that Matt will don his alternate yellow-and-red suit. But if Matt will be working the courtroom alongside (or opposite of) Jennifer Walters, Cox will definitely keep it under wraps until his episode airs.
Daredevil in the MCU: Echo
Maya Lopez is Echo, the vengeful master of martial arts and cunning we first met in Disney’s Hawkeye. In the comics, it was actually Daredevil who Kingpin framed for the death of Maya’s father, not Hawkeye.
But now that Kingpin has been exposed, it presents a perfect opportunity for two characters who have beef with the crime boss to team up. Moreover, these two have a very special rapport, especially when it comes to fighting styles. While Matt Murdoch is blind, Maya Lopez is deaf.
Daredevil & Deadpool
Listen, these two have crossed paths several times in comics over the years. They rarely fight on the same side, but it’s Deadpool! What are sides even?!
Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in particular would play very well off of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. His sly wit and clear values would contrast very nicely with the pure chaos that is the Merc with the Mouth. And speaking of mouthy team-ups…
Charlie Cox’s Daredevil & the Spider-Verse
Lest we all forget, Charlie Cox’s MCU debut was also his Sony-Marvelverse debut. Spider-Man: No Way Home reintroduced us to Matt Murdoch, the plucky attorney and excellent brick-catcher.
It’s not out of the question to think that he could appear in a legacy Spider-Man film. Will he share the screen with Tom Holland again? Maybe.
But if Holland passes the mantel to Miles Morales, Daredevil could still enter into the mix. After all, they’re practically neighbors.
Wherever Matt next appears, we’ll be ready and waiting. Cox’s take on the character was way too good to be over just yet. But wherever he goes, Foggy must go too– or we riot.
