MTG: New Capenna Leak
A new leak from Facebook, appears to showcase a MTG card from the upcoming Streets of New Capenna.
Step right up good, grab yourselves a grain of salt, it’s Magic leak season. That’s an awful season name but a fantastically fun time if you’re a fan of Magic the Gathering.
A new leak is making the rounds, the original poster claims they found it on Facebook ads, but who can say for certain. But the images, which are surprisingly clear for leaked Magic card images–it looks like the person taking these pictures had a phone made post-2006, which is rarity enough to make some posters doubt the veracity of the card. Judge for yourself!
Yes, that is a devil driving a car with an angel hood ornament. And a d20 for scale (and also with the New Capenna emblem). If these images are fake, they’re an elaborate fake–that’s a spin-down d20, which is what Magic players use.
Here’s a closer look at the Draft Booster set. But the real spicy meatball is below:
This is Transmogrifying wand, which enters the battlefield with the ability to turn creatures into 2/4 white Ox tokens at Sorcery speed (well at least when you can cast a Sorcery). It’s looking like this will be a fun set.
What do you think? Are these real? Or is this just another way the city of New Capenna lies to you, and gets under your skin, the way coffee left too long in the pot stains the glass. Live too long in a city of devils and when do you become one yourself? Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon–unless of course someone else comes along and transmogrifies you into an Ox token, which is a fitting fate for a city-dweller. Only in New Capenna.
