Star Wars: What’s Next For Team Boba Fett?
Now that The Book of Boba Fett is over, what’s next for our favorite characters in the galaxy far far away?
Love it or hate it, The Book of Boba Fett sure did give us a season of Star Wars to watch. The show may have been best as a way station between other shows, furthering the stories of other characters more than Boba Fett himself.
But hey, we got to see exactly how he escaped the Sarlacc Pitt in this version! Hurray. With all of that behind us, we’re looking forward to the upcoming shows and what’s next for all of our favorite characters that showed up in The Book of Boba Fett.

Cobb Vanth

The mid credits scene revealed that Marshal Vanth had survived his run in with Cad Bane. Recovering in Boba Fett‘s bacta tank and seemingly next on the list to get a few sweet cybernetic modifications, it’s looking like Cobb will be back and better than ever soon.
Boba also implied only a few moments earlier that he didn’t actually like running things on Tatooine all that much. Fennec Shand asked if not them, then who? And Boba didn’t really have an answer.
Nobody in his immediate crew seemed up to or interested in the job, and Din is already off zooming his son across the galaxy. But Cobb Vanth is already a respected leader in Freetown. He’s already stood up to the Pykes and their spice trade, and has the charisma to win people over. Cobb and his new mods may be the obvious choice here.
Din & Grogu

Din’s got a lot going on. He’s sort of Mandalorian, just got his kid back from Jedi school, and has to figure out how to hunt those bounties in his tiny new sports-ship. At this point, it’s likely his bounty hunting days are on hold for the foreseeable future.
If he wants to be accepted back into his Mandalorian sect, the Armorer said he needs to go to the destroyed mines of Mandalore. While a normal person would have accepted this as kicked-out-and-never-going-back, Din is delightfully earnest.
If he took this as a director order or mission, I wouldn’t be surprised. But even if he’s just going to attempt to re-take their homeworld, it seems likely that Din is on his way to Mandalore.
But what will Grogu’s part be in this mission? My guess is that he will, just like the Darksaber‘s first wielder, be a Mandalorian and a Jedi (sort of). Ahsoka Tano and Din’s conversation this season hinted that Grogu could be both a foundling and a Padawan. An itty bitty Grogu wielding the Darksaber could be adorable and awkward, but it would also be a plot move I’d love to see.
Boba Fett & Fennec

Boba doesn’t seem to want to be a crime boss or a bounty hunter anymore. And Fennec, despite being at the top of her game, seems happy to continue being Boba’s right hand woman for a while longer. But what’s next for them? Unfortunately, there aren’t any hints and the sky is the limit.
He could continue messing with syndicates and interrupting the spice trade across the galaxy. This would give us the opportunity to see what other groups like the Crimson Sun are up to and possibly give us an update on characters like Qi’ra.
Boba could perhaps finally meet his long lost sister, Omega. And with so many other animated characters making the transition to live action, I’d love to see what an adult Omega is up to and how she and Boba would get along.
Or maybe he’ll just retire happily somewhere. It feels unlikely and out of character, but he sure would deserve it.
