Super Bowl Trailer Round Up– ‘Moon Knight’, ‘Sonic 2’, and More
The Super Bowl didn’t just bring sportsball and a halftime show to the masses– it brought trailers.
DC Preview– 2022
New looks at this year’s big releases: The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash, plus Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.
Moon Knight– Disney+ March 30th
This trailer offers new scenes. It also came with an updated synopsis, which clarifies some things I’ve been wondering about.
“The story follows Steven Grant who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities. All while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”
Sonic the Hedgehog 2– Theaters April 8th
The fast-moving hero is back this summer! The next chapter in the story brings Tails to the screen to battle Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles, and save the world.
Coming This Summer
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – Theaters May 6th
The new trailer dives deeper into the massive danger Stephen has put the universe into. That fix at the end of No Way Home didn’t really fix things– maybe patched it for a short amount of time.
“Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”
Jurassic World: Dominion– Theaters June 10th
Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm return to try to sort out the new disaster man has made.
“Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.”
Lightyear– Theaters June 17th
Learn the story behind the toy in this prequel starring Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear.
Nope– Theaters July 22
Jordan Peele’s new horror looks to be about an evil coming from the sky. Also: wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men.
“Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out), who is joined by Keke Palmer (Hustlers) and Oscar nominee Steven Yeun (Minari, Okja) as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.”
The Rings of Power– Amazon September 2nd
Amazon’s series set in the Second Age looks like it’s going to live up to its price tag. It is certainly pretty.
“This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era.”
