What slices as it dices and turns your troops in to julienne fries? The Shuriken weapons of the Aeldari will after this new update.

Games Workshop revealed a bunch of cool Aeldari models coming to the game at LVO. They even announced the Aeldari Codex (and also the one after it). They’ve been slowly teasing out rules and today we’re getting yet another chunk of info. This time we’re taking a look at the Shuriken Weapons of the Aeldari and they are about to be much deadlier than before.

“Shuriken weapons use Aeldari technology to spray high-speed monomolecular discs that slice through flesh as easily as ceramite. They’ve been a mainstay of Asuryani and Harlequin armies for many years, but the craftworlds have clearly been sharpening their ammunition in preparation for the new codex.”

Out With The Old…

For comparison sake here’s a look at the current iteration of the famed Shuriken Cannon:

Not too shabby. But this edition of Warhammer things are a lot deadlier than in previous versions of the game. The old weapons just weren’t cutting it anymore. But that’s about to change…

The Shuriken Cannon is no longer Assault 3 — it’s Heavy now. But it’s gained a point of AP and also gone up to 2 damage! “Oh but what about it’s old ability to cut through armor?” It’s gonna be okay…

On 6s to wound you’re still getting that high powered AP shot in there. But note that the ability is just called “Shuriken” now. You know what else is a Shuriken weapon?

Yeah. And all the old classics, too.

You get the idea. The entire Aeldari army is going to be packing Shuriken weapons of some kind, right? They are such a versatile weapon but they are really going to tear up the armor of infantry with the volume of shots.

Man, if the Aeldari have a way to re-roll their hits and/or wounds those weapons are going to be even more deadly and consistent. But that’s probably not going to be a thing from say…their psychic powers or anything, right?

The Codex: Aeldari and it’s 200 pages of pain are coming soon.

“It’s like their go-to weapon is just better this edition or something.”
