Warhammer 40K: Price Yriel And The Corsairs
No, that’s not the name of your High School Band. It’s the latest rules preview from Games Workshop!
Prince Yriel is getting his own article previewing what his rules will be like on the tabletop. This Outcast/Pirate Prince is back with some new tricks from the new Aeldari codex. Let’s see what he can do with his band of Corsairs!
“Now, thanks to his life as a corsair prince, Yriel’s strategic skills are sharpened to a razor edge, and he commands his army with the acumen of an Autarch. In fact, his Path of Command ability is more expansive than usual, affecting units with the Anhrathe keyword in addition to the usual Core.”
Just having around provides a nice re-roll of 1s boost to your units. But his tricks certainly don’t stop there. His band of Corsairs is known for their hit and run tactics. And your other Aeldari units can also hitch a ride with them for some Strategic Reserve action.
Not only will be buff your units, he’s also going to get them where they need to be. Don’t forget that including Corsairs in your Aeldari forces doesn’t prevent the rest of the army from getting access to their army special rules like Strands of Fate. So there’s really no reason not to take them! Oh and did we mention that Yriel can still put in some work in close combat, too?
The Spear of Twilight is possibly cursed…but that won’t matter to Yriel as he’s busy slaying foes (for now). He’s ready to rock out with his Corsairs — as long as you’re ready to pay the pirate price.
Codex: Aeldari is coming soon!
What do you think of Prince Yriel? Will you be fielding him with some Corsairs for fun?
