The call of the Wolf is strong with this extraordinary commission of Elden Ring cosplay for Bandai!
Steven K Smith of SKS Props is a titan in the world of cosplay. His brand pushes out some of the most screen-accurate, gorgeous depictions of pop culture available on the market. Steven makes products that are sold in craft stores as well. This week we’re fawning all over his stunning armor build of the Elden Ring cosplay – Bloody Wolf Armor.
Elden Ring Cosplay by SKS Props
To celebrate the launch of their new Souls game Elden Ring, Bandai hired SKS props to commission a special cosplay build. The project (as usually happens with cosplay) had a very rapid turn-around for Bandai. It took about 300 hours over 35 days to complete. Steven created the armor with intricate details. This work brings the armor to life in an impressive way.
Armor and props are a particular strength of SKS Props, (hence the name), and this expertise shows in construction of the Bloody Wolf armor. We look forward to playing Elden Ring in the weeks to come, and seeing more from SKS Props in regards to this build. (And hopefully more images of the finished product)!
“Here’s what I’ve been doing for the past month of social media silence. I was hired to make a full Bloody Wolf cosplay armor set… Plus attend several Bandai / Fromsoftware events, for the launch of Elden Ring!!!
“Here are some WIP pics of the @ELDENRING Bloody Wolf helmet I made for @BandaiNamcoUS / @fromsoftware_pr. It’s resin cast using @SmoothOn 65D and hand painted with graphite powder and @Liquitex acrylics. #ELDENRING.”
“I always start with a rough prototype made in about 20 minutes so I can get the base shape. Then I pattern it out using poster board and transfer that onto my HD-Foam from @blickartmaterials. To fabricate the seamless ribs, I covered dremeled strips with 1mm HD-Foam using contact spray. The chest armor has rare earth magnets as well as parachute clips on the left side to latch it shut. All of the details were cut individually out of foam.”
“Even the “fur” is made out of completely separate 2 and 4mm pieces but it was the best way to get the definition I wanted. All of the details at the top of the chest were also individually cut out. Even the parts that will later on get covered by the shoulder pads.”
“The runes were laid down with puff paint. Then I took a tooth pick to spread the paint out and give it a raised etch feel.”

“This is by far one of the most technically difficult costume pieces I have ever fabricated. But I’m extremely proud of the process.”
