Necromunda: Ash Wastes – It’s Not All Vehicle Combat
Games Workshop has revealed some awesome new stuff for Necromunda: Ash Wastes. And it’s not ALL vehicle combat!
When we first saw the trailer for the Ash Wastes we got pumped for the possibilities. Convoys crossing the harsh desert. Raiders attacking Mad Max style. Action, drama, and a whole bunch of explosions to be had…The Ash Wastes are knocking.
Not Just Vehicle Combat
After the GW preview we got a bit more info on the game itself. It’s going to be an expansion/launching point for Necromunda. If you have an existing gang/collection the good news is you’re still good to go. While the game does ADD vehicle combat, your gangers on foot aren’t going to be left out in the cold. Why else would GW have included a new gang of awesome looking Ash Waste Nomads?!
We’re also really looking forward to all the crazy new “vehicles” GW is adding to the game as well. These Dustback Helamnite Riders are bonkers.
We know that House Orlock is getting in on the vehicle combat but we seriously doubt they are the only ones. We’re expecting most gangs to get get some sort of mechanical rides to venture out into the wastes.
Personally, I really want to see what the heck GW has come up with for gangs like the Van Saar and Cawdor. Those two are going to be on the opposite ends of the tech spectrum and it should be interesting.
I mean Van Saar has freakin’ Hoverboards! What are their vehicles going to look like!?
Whatever the new vehicle combat ends up being in the Ash Wastes I’m just glad that the game isn’t changing so much that it’s closer to Speed Freeks instead of Necromunda. I’m really hopeful that this game is closer to Gorkamorka which had a good mix of vehicles and infantry skirmish combat. I’m also hoping there are more rules for custom vehicles based on the existing GW line. How cool would it be to get access to a scrapped Taurox or Goliath truck? Here’s hopin!
