‘Operation Fortune’ is a Guy Ritchie Heist Movie – Hopefully It Proves to Be More
Operation Fortune promises to be another Guy Ritchie gangster romp – but is it different enough from his other movies?
In Guy Ritchie’s latest a super spy, a skilled team of operatives, and a movie star team-up. They must stop the sale of weapons technology by a billionaire arms broker. The director has assembled a new team of actors (anchored by Jason Statham) that have the chops to pull off a comedic spy caper. Can they make it more than just another Guy Ritchie movie?

I’m a heist movie super fan. I’m there for smart plot twists, tension, and fantastic ensemble casts. That said, I’m not super excited for this.
Ritchie’s style is so predictable at this point that the only real novel thing here is Aubrey Plaza. It’s all there: biting humor, British gangsters, bashing heads, and a heist that takes a special team to pull off. Hopefully, Operation Fortune has some new twists fans haven’t seen and it’s not just another cookie cutter heist movie.
That is a top notch Michael Cain/Alan Ford impression from Grant.
