Hello there! The Kenobi teaser trailer is finally here. Here’s what we noticed, what we loved, and what we’re looking forward to.

At long last, the Kenobi teaser trailer is here and it’s hard not to be excited to see Ewan McGregor back to his galactic business. The upcoming Disney+ series is one of those rare instances where fans ask for a specific thing and the studio delivers. Suffice to say, we’ve been looking forward to seeing Kenobi back in action, and yesterday they delivered.

There’s a lot to look forward to in this series and the trailer was full of details and Easter Eggs that we can’t wait to dive into. But these are some of the things we’re most looking forward to exploring when Kenobi begins streaming on Disney+.

The Inquisitors

The Inquisitors have a long and terrifying history in Star Wars, and we’ve been pretty sure for a while that we’d see one or two in Kenobi. But their reveal in the teaser trailer has us excited to love-hate every moment they’re on screen come may.

If you’re not familiar with the Inquisitors, go watch Star Wars: Rebels. They make appearances in comics, books, and video games as well, but I think Rebels is where they really shine. If you don’t have the time, The Inquisitors are an order of dark-side force users who’s job it is to hunt down Jedi that survived Order 66 and un-survive them. They are the best of the best and even our protagonists find themselves consistently in trouble when an Inquisitor shows up.

The Kenobi trailer gives us a look at the live action Grand Inquisitor as well as just the slightest hint of his spinning double-sided lightsaber. But wait, there is another. Kenobi will also introduce the ‘Third Sister,’ Reva. Played by Moses Ingram, not much is known about Reva at this time. But the trailer does show her cornering Uncle Owen, which is just a bit too close to Luke and Kenobi for anyone’s comfort.

But will we see them use their spinning lightsabers to fly? I sure hope so.

Luke Skywalker!

While Leia is becoming a junior legislator and learning how to lead the budding Rebellion, Luke is making his fake space ship go vroom. And honestly, that couldn’t make us happier to see. In a story that looks like it’s going to be filled with Inquisitor level violence (even if just implied), it’s nice to the child Kenobi is trying to protect being a child.

We know from the movies and comics that Luke’s interactions with Kenobi at will be limited. And from the looks of the trailer the Jedi is mostly watching Luke from afar in accordance with his Aunt and Uncle’s wishes. But it’s looking like protecting Luke is going to be a major driving point in Kenobi‘s plot.

We’re Still On Tatooine

The Mandalorian spent a fair amount of time on Tatooine. Boba Fett‘s entire story took place on Tatooine. Now Kenobi and the Lars-Skywalkers live there. It seems like we may never leave Tatooine. And it’s so sandy! We hate sand!

Well, mostly. The Kenobi trailer gave us our first look at new-to-the-canon planet Daiyu. Looking like the antithesis of the desert planet we’ve grown use to, Daiyu looks like something out of Blade Runner or Times Square with bright lights, bustling city, and what I can only assume is a nightlife. We don’t know what Reva’s doing there or how long we’ll spend in Daiyu with her, but it’s always exciting to see another planet added to the mix.

And of course, Obi Wan himself. This is just a teaser trailer, so what we see of Kenobi is a lot of neutral colored robes (that I’m sure he’ll dramatically drop during fights) and trying to keep a low profile. We see him on what looks like public transportation trying to blend in, walking through town with his hood pulled mostly over his face, and sneakily watching Luke from a distance. We know Kenobi is a character trying to fly under the radar and attract no attention, and he’s doing it in this trailer. Unfortunately he’s probably going to have to fight an inquisitor or two.
