Total War: Warhammer 3 – Alt + Tab Crash Fix Beta Live Now
Total War: Warhammer 3 put a crash fix live–via Steam beta–today. If you’ve been having alt + tab issues, here’s how you can try out the patch.
Just a quick one folks, but Total War: Warhammer 3 has a new beta up right now. While Creative Assembly works on the upcoming 1.1 patch, the “Crash Fix Beta” is live on a new Steam Beta branch.
In order to use the fix, you’ll have to opt-in to a temporary, beta version of the game. Once you do, though, you’ll be able to alt tab out of the game with impunity. Here’s the “beta notes.”
Total War: Warhammer 3 – Crash Fix Beta On Steam
This Beta is aimed at the issue that when alt tabbing out of the game, the client would quit unexpectedly. That’s pretty much it. However, there might be a couple of hitches that you run in to when opting in to this beta. As Creative Assembly outlined it:
-
CROSSPLAY WHILE PLAYING THE STEAM BETA WILL BE UNAVAILABLE.
Steam beta players will ONLY be able to play with other Steam beta players until the fix is fully-integrated alongside Update 1.1.
-
Dragging your window to a monitor using a different resolution can cause graphical issues.
You can drag the game back to your original monitor or you can re-launch the game on the second monitor to work around this problem.
-
Save Games will initially prompt a warning that they are incompatible with the new build.
Verifying the integrity of your game files should let you work around this error.
The opt-in beta is live until March 31st, 2022
