Games Workshop just put out a new 2022 Roadmap and confirmed the arrival of the Slaves to Darkness.

While I was finishing up the article about what we think could be the next Battletome Games Workshop dropped a new Roadmap as well as a BIG teaser. Let’s just dive in, shall we.

via Warhammer Community

“Before the rampaging hordes of Chaos reach us, you can look forward to a treasure trove of Warhammer Age of Sigmar releases arriving in the coming months. We even have a shiny new roadmap for you to check out.”

First up, we’re still waiting on Nighthaunt and Daughters of Khaine. Secondly, we’re still hoping that the next two books are Skaven and Sylvaneth. We’re expecting to see some sort of announcement about that next week. Thirdly, 4 more books in Autumn!? Heck ya! I literally just said “GW has 17 armies that are currently in the game that need 3.0 battletomes. 19 if you count the Nighthaunt and DoK books that aren’t technically out yet. That’s a lot of ground to cover.”

Age of Sigmar New 2022 Roadmap

So now we know what’s coming:

Summer

  • Chaos Battletome
  • Order Battletome

Autumn

  • Order Battletome
  • Chaos Battletome
  • Destruction Battletome
  • Destruction Battletome

Winter

  • Slaves to Darkness

I just wrote up my speculation as to what’s coming — now we at least know the categories we can expect. The double destruction is an interesting choice. They could use more books…but so can the Death Faction. In anycase, we’re just glad to see more books on the way and I’m glad to see GW is speeding things up. And speaking of speeding things up…

It’s not just a new Battletome GW is working on either. They also dropped a tease about a brand new Daemon Prince kit which is looking spicy.

There’s a lot to unpack here. We’re also thinking this kit is going to replace the generic one — so 40k players get ready! And, because I know folks are wondering, this isn’t the reveal from next week either:

The wings are similar as is the pose. But that silhouette isn’t the same Daemon Prince. Get ready for MORE chaos (or a really funky Tyranid).

Tune in next week for even more reveals at Warhammer Fest Online 2022!
