D&D Direct – ‘Dragons Of Stormwreck Isle’ & More Revealed
D&D Direct was certainly fruitful, wasn’t it? Here’s a look at Dragons of Stormwreck Isle and everything else at D&D Direct.
D&D Direct unveiled a big look at the future of D&D. And a big part of that is the new starter set, Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. We got our first, bigger glimpse of the starter set. As well as a look at the artist credits. Check it out.
Dragons of Stormwreck Isle
This new starter set looks promising. And in fact, upon closer inspection, it looks like Hank the Ranger and Diana the Acrobat are teaming up to take on this blue dragon.
Whether or not they’re the characters in the boxed set, or are just inspiration, the new set looks inviting. As before it has everything players need to get started playing D&D. Including a very basic look at the rules:
But WotC had so much more to show off at D&D Direct.
WizKids has a new Skirmish Game AND Spelljammer Minis coming
WizKids unveiled D&D Onslaught, a new D&D Tactical Skirmish game. In it, players will take on the role of either a group of Harpers or Zhentarim facing off against each other in a race to claim treasure from “those who guard.” So, Skirmishing, Dungeon Crawls, everything you could want.
Well. Almost everything. They also showed off some of the miniatures planned for Spelljammer, including my new favorite character, a Flumph pirate named Flap Jack:

Video Games Galore
D&D Direct also gave us a look at the future of both Neverwinter and Baldur’s Gate 3. Neverwinter has a new Dragon-themed expansion coming. While Baldur’s Gate 3 gave us a glimpse at just how far the game has come since the launch of early access. And while we won’t see the rest of the game until 2023, that launch date looks to be fairly solid.
The future of D&D looks bright indeed!
