First ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Trailer Introduces Natalie Portman’s Thor
The first Thor: Love and Thunder trailer has finally arrived and it has a sweet soundtrack. Here it is. ❤️ + ⚡
Thor 4 was announced during SDCC 2019. Taika Waititi is back in the director’s chair. During the panel, the bombshell that the new movie is focusing on Jane Foster taking on the mantle of Thor, and Natalie Portman reprising her role, was dropped. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson (whose Valkyrie was confirmed as the first openly LGBTQ+ character in the MCU) will also be returning.
I really dug Russell Dauterman and Jason Aaron’s work with the character, so I’m really excited about this. Just as a reminder…
This is not She-Thor…. not Lady Thor… not Thorita. This is Thor. This is the Thor of the Marvel Universe. But it’s unlike any Thor we’ve ever seen before.
Thor: Love and Thunder Trailer
They played a bit with Thor Odinson not being up to the task, and just wanting to take a break, in Endgame. This trailer shows a bit of his adventures since the defeat of Thanos. He’s been hanging with the Guardians crew and having a blast. The trailer also gives our first look at Natalie Portman as Thor – in all her regalia with mjolnir.
Thor: Love and Thunder sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. Plus Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Oscar winners Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. And, of course, the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The film finds Thor on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg, and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8th.
