Five Anime Cosplays to Celebrate National Anime Day!
It’s National Anime Day here in the USA, and we’re celebrating with some iconic Anime cosplays!
In the last few decades, love of anime has become a staple of pop-culture fandom in the United States of America. As more creators are made available to American audiences, the love of animation grows. April 15th is National Anime Day, and we’re here to celebrate some of our favorite Anime cosplays inspiration!
We’re going to do things a little differently today. We’re going to celebrate National Anime Day with some of our favorite previous cosplay features. These are so good they deserve a second look, so we’re bringing the brightest stars, the biggest heroes, and the scariest villains for you to enjoy. Here is the best of BoLs Anime Cosplays!
1. Armored Sailor Scouts Cosplay Group
No cosplay feature about anime could POSSIBLY be complete without Sailor Moon. I remember running home from school every day to catch the last 15 minutes of Sailor Moon on tv each day. With its youthful exuberance, it’s championing of love and good over evil, Sailor Moon is a series that stays relevant through the years. It is given new life in this group feature with cosplayers Gladzy Kei Art & Cosplay Andy Rae Cosplay Jessica Nigri Vivid Vision @oopompayoo Caroline Dawe Art & Cosplay Stella Chuu Yousei Cosplay Holly Wolf Kristicles Art & Cosplay and photo by Randy Gee Photographee.
2. Trinity Blood Lilith Cosplay
In a post-apocalyptic world of the Trinity Blood graphic novels and anime, Lilith Sahl fought with the humans against the Night Lords. She lost her life for what she believes in, and we honored her sacrifice with a cosplay feature. Lilith is a character who captures the imagination of artists and cosplayers alike. With her gorgeous crimson hair and her piercing blue wings, she is not a character that is easy to forget. Neither is the gorgeous anime!
3. Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba Cosplays
This one was featured upon popular requests from multiple staffers. In a world where man-eating demons roam the land, young heroes rise up to stand against the terror and save their people. A young boy’s family is destroyed, and he trains to become a Demon Slayer. Cosplays by August Kievsky, Disharmonica, Lyumos, NguyetAnhMai.
4. Sky Blue Wonderful Days Cosplay by Aurora_Yuliya
This classic tale of a poisoned environment and mankind’s struggle to find peace and save itself is no less vivid for its similar themes. The anime goes by many names, but each showcases heartbreaking imagery that leaves a lasting impression.
5. Avatar the Last Airbender
While TECHNICALLY this one isn’t an anime, since it was produced in the USA, many of the actors and production staff involved in its creation are big names in the anime world, so we’re allowing it. The story of a young (and yet old) boy finding himself, believing in humanity, and uniting people is as charming as the ‘yip yip’ he makes when flying on his trusty Appa. This show is dear to the heart of everyone who sees it, and has gotten a spinoff show, a (less than stellar) live action movie, and is now getting a reboot. Cosplays by Elffi, CutiepieSensei, Tophwei, Elyon Cosplay, Astrophel Cosplay, The Wisperia, and Brian Balance.
