‘Minecraft’ Update Confirms Additions: Mobs, Biomes & More
The upcoming Minecraft 1.19 update is on its way. And with it come new mobs, biomes, advancements, items, and more.
This will be called The Wild Update and it’s aimed to enhance the game with a boost from the new incoming features
Over the past few months, Mojang, the Swedish developer behind Minecraft, as been releasing previews and pictures of the updates to come. There have been beta tests designed to hammer out any bugs and teaser tweets meant to drum up excitement. And they have done just that as players worldwide eagerly look forward to the update. With The Wild Update around the corner, we now know exactly which Biomes and Mobs to expect to see in Minecraft‘s near future.
Mobs
Mobs, or Mobile Objects, are computer controlled non-player characters. Players often fight against mobs. Minecraft‘s 1.19 update will include five new mobs ranging from pretty cute to downright terrifying. These include the Frogs, which will be cute, silly, and mostly passive creatures, Allays, which will be friendly, rare creatures who will give you back dropped items, and Tadpoles, which can be scooped up in a bucked and brought to another biome. Two frogs can spawn to create Tadpoles. Also being added are Fireflies, a more ambient creature who will look pretty and act as a food source for frogs.
Of course, non of those mobs are creatures you’ll likely want to fight. For that, Minecraft 1.19 will be introducing The Warden. They will have both melee and ranged attacks and a lot of health. They’re so powerful that even player-characters in netherite amor can get seriously hurt in an encounter with The Warden. They’ll only respawn in the Deep Dark though, so if you’d rather collect Tadpoles than fight The Warden, you can avoid them.
Biomes
Biomes in Minecraft are similar to biomes in the real world. They’re simply regions of the world with different ecology. Minecraft 1.19 will introduce two new biomes with an entirely new aesthetic and feel.
The first will be the Deep Dark. This biome is designed to be creepy if not downright scary, and this is where The Warden spawns and can be encountered. The Deep Dark is also where players will be able to find new Ancient City structures. These will have valuable look for anyone brave enough to visit this biome.
The second biome to be added in The Wild Update is the Mangrove Swamp. Densely populated mangrove trees, mud, and roots will fill this region. And, unsurprisingly, this is where the update’s new mud blocks passive animals mobs will be spawning.
