MTG: ‘Streets Of New Capenna’ Spoiler-Stravaganza
Streets of New Capenna is just around the corner and today we’ve got an avalanche of new spoilers. Take a look.
Streets of New Capenna blends the noirified world of the 1920s-40s with Magic: the Gathering. The result? Angels and demons dressed in pinstripe suits. Accountants and occultants working hand in hand. A speakeasy that serves up an illicit substance known as Halo. Bootlegging Raccoons.
In short, everything great about Magic: the Gathering with a dash of noir lingo. And today we get a look at some of the latest spoilers from the big pre-release day stream. Take a look.
New Capenna New Spoilers
And it all starts with a Connoisseur. A Venom Connoisseur that is.
A 2/2 for two that also comes with deathtouch any time another creature enters the battlefield under your control? They may not look like Grizzly Bears, but they’re sure doing that work.
Incandescent Aria, on the other hand, is just slow but wide burn. It hits every nontoken creature, so if you want to wipe a ramping board, green white and red are the way to go.
Hey speaking of Naya, have a look at Fleetfoot Dancer. Not only does this 4/4 with lifelink and haste and trample look good, they give you some Jets vs. Sharks dance battle action. When you’re a Vanto you’re a Vanto all the way.
Celebrity is a dangerous weapon. And nobody knows it quite like this elf druid who is absolutely gorgeous, wrapped up in nature.
The Cabaretti are quickly shaping up to be one of my favorite factions in the setting. They have a knack for partying and living it up 20s style. They also help fix your mana base, so what’s not to love?
What, would you prefer to get away on a licensed hearse? I love this one because you basically steal two creatures from a single graveyard to crew it. And you can keep doing this each time. This is a very fun card to mess around with.
Elf druids play a surprisingly big part in New Capenna. This one’s proof that when it rains cats and/or dogs, your board state floods with creatures.
Then again, there are the angels. The Angelic Observer is cheaper the more citizens you have. A 3/3 with flying that’s maybe cheap might come in handy. But take a look instead at…
Tainted Indulgence shows the dangers of drinking. Well. Drinking when you don’t have a variety of mana values in your graveyard.
Fattal Grudge is for all those moments when you’re going down, but you wanna take the other person with you.
Perhaps my favorite card of the new spoilers, Sizzling Soloist not only is a card you can hear, but you can also have some creatures sit down and stand up when you want them to.
Finally we close out with Obscura Initiate, who is a 2/2 flier that can add in some lifelink. Just a fun time.
