Necromunda: Where’s The Wrath & Glory RPG Supplement
The perfect Wrath & Glory RPG supplement has been staring us in the face. Where’s Wrath & Glory: Necromunda Edition?
If you’re not familiar with the Wrath & Glory RPG, where have you been!? It’s the Warhammer 40,000 Roleplaying Game from Cubicle 7. It’s been out for a few years at this point and even has a revised edition out now. The point is that it’s been out and about for a bit and it’s worth checking out — especially if you’re looking to run an RPG in the Grimdark.
So that got us here at BoLS thinking. We’re digging the new Necromunda setting of the Ash Wastes. The new models look cool, the new map is looking amazing, and it seems like a massive sandbox to play Necromunda in!
And that’s great! We’re excited to go play in the sands of the Ash Wastes with our gangs and road-raiders. It’s going to be a blast to do the whole skirmish–thing there. The Ash Wastes are a brand new place to tell the story of your gangs and explore the surface outside of the Hives.
But that also got us wondering — what if we wanted to tell those same stories with a bit more focus? That’s when it hit us: Wrath & Glory has already laid the groundwork for a Necromunda RPG experience.
A Match Made In The Grimdark
Wrath & Glory already has all the mechanics down. Without a ton of work you can whip up your own characters fairly easily. Using the Guardsmen as a template you can pretty much create each type of ganger. Obviously, you’ll have to do some more leg work to figure out what’s the best fit for a big, beefy Goliath or techno-wizard Van Saar member. But the core of the system is there.
The game already has other 40k settings you can borrow from and it’s an RPG so making your own stories is implied. Without too much thought I’m sure you can come up several reasons why you’re ragtag group of reject gangers have teamed up to tackle a bigger threat. Heck, there’s already a bunch of Hired Guns in Necromunda — you think they got that way by sticking with their gang’s rules?
Really, you just need an excuse to toss your characters together and go adventuring. Sure, you could stay in the Hive. There’s an untold number of stories to tell about life in the Hives. Alternatively, you could take the story out into the wastes. With such vast distances between “settled” areas, you’ve basically got an (almost) blank canvas to work from. It’s the Wild West — but Necromunda!
Need a boom town setting? I’m pretty sure GW’s terrain kits have you more than covered.
Let’s not forget that the next setting is also introducing vehicles. Maybe your crew of ragtag ex-gangers has a new Cargo-8 Ridgehauler and that’s their base. Maybe they are going bounty hunting around the wastes. Perhaps they’re into Jazz. Whatever the case, they’ve got to keep the money flowing to keep their home moving. Not to mention all the hiccups and struggles that come with owning a big rig that also happens to be one juicy target for raiders.

Lore. Lots of Lore…
If you need inspiration or background we’ve also got some good news: GW has you covered. All the of the “House of …” book series go into great detail for the various houses in Necromunda. That history runs deep and spills out into the wastes, too. Not to mention all the other stories over the years from Black Library or White Dwarf.
The resources are 100% out there if you want to do the legwork to create your own Necromunda-themed Wrath & Glory Campaign. But here’s my pitch to Cubicle 7: Make a Wrath & Glory: Necromunda supplement book. And then make a follow-up book that expands the setting outside and into the Ash Wastes!
The foundations is already in place. Give folks a reason to score some more Necromunda minis as well as your sourcebooks. Necromunda is already innately about campaigning and storytelling for a Gang. Wrath & Glory is all about telling exciting RPG stories in the Grimdark. This just seems like a perfect fit.
