New ‘Ms. Marvel’ Trailer Shows the Future in Kamala Khan’s Cosmic Hands

Marvel’s newest 30-second spot highlights the power of Kamala Khan’s cosmically-glowing hands. Kamala is one of many next-generation Marvel heroes who appear to be ushering in the future of the MCU. And as June 8th draws closer, we’re eager to see as much Ms. Marvel as the studio will release.
Who is Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel?
Kamala is a Muslim Pakistani-American teenage girl living in New Jersey. She lives with her parents, Yusuf and Muneeba Khah, and her older brother Aamir. She absolutely loves the Avengers, and is an avid fan and writer of fanfiction (relatable.) Captain Marvel Carol Danvers is her absolute favorite, but she loves her some Wolverine, too.
The show should see a different origin story for Kamala’s powers than the comic book. But it does look like she’ll be taking a position in the Marvel family this June. But where do her cosmic powers come from? And who are the mysterious figures in the trailer walking out of the light?
Ms. Marvel Details
The new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. She’s an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe. Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an oversized imagination – particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home. That is until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?
The cast is led by newcomer Iman Villani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. She’s joined by Matt Lintz, Anjali Bhimani, Zenobia Shroff, Rish Shah, and Mohan Kapur.
