‘Chainsaw Man’ Anime Will Stream on Crunchyroll

This week Crunchyroll will officially be simulcast streaming upcoming Chainsaw Man, and there’s a new trailer up!

We’ve been looking forward to the off the rails weird-fest that is Chainsaw Man since its anime was announced. And today we know a little more about it as well as a new trailer.

Chainsaw Man Anime

The anime streaming service, Crunchyroll, announced on Monday that Chainsaw Man will be streaming on the service in this year’s upcoming season lineups. The show will be simulcast with its Japanese release, and there will be subtitled and dubbed options available to fans. It will be available to more than two hundred countries world-wide, and will be dubbed in English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and German.

“With dark humor, dynamic characters and a sharp story, Chainsaw Man is one of the most anticipated new series this year, and we are wickedly excited to bring it to fans on the Crunchyroll service. Anime fans will be up all night thinking about the spectacular visuals and high-octane action,” said Asa Suehira, Chief Content Officer at Crunchyroll.

Chainsaw Man is being  produced by MAPPA (Maruyama Animation Produce Project Association), the anime studio known for Attack on Titan Final Season, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Yuri!!! on Ice, just to name a few. MAPPA’s animated feature film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has become one of the top five highest grosing anime films in the US, top ten grossing anime movies worldwide, and top twenty in Japan.

“Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.

The manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimono debuted in Weekly Shonon Jump in December of 2018. It’s first part, the Public Safety Arc, concluded in Dember 2020. But the manga will return with the School Arc this in Shonen Jump+ this summer. It has ranked among the top manga since 2019 and won Best Manga at the Harvey Awards in October. Chainsaw Man is published by Viz Media and available both in print and digitally.
