What happens when the CIA’s top assassins go after a shadow operative with big secrets? Fistfights, explosions, destruction of multiple cars, and a mustache. The Gray Man is a new movie from Netflix. It’s based on Mark Greaney’s novel of the same name – it’s the start of a book series.

This looks fantastic, and a perfect option to fill in the spy thriller/action fest hole where M:I 7 was supposed to go this year. The cast and choice of directors are perfect for this story, and it’s great to see Evans back in an action title (with a fantastic wardrobe, to boot). I’m hoping I get a chance to see it on a big screen with big sound to match.

The Gray Man Details
It stars Ana de Armas, Ryan Gosling, and Chris Evans. The rest of the cast includes Dhanush, Alfre Woodard, Billy Bob Thornton, Jessica Henwick, and others. The Russo Brothers (known mainly for their work with Marvel) are directing. As mentioned up top, it’s based on a novel by Mark Greaney.

The Gray Man debuts in limited theaters and on Netflix on July 22nd.
