First 8 Minutes of ‘Stranger Things’ Takes Us Back to Hawkins Labs
The first 8 minutes of Stranger Things reveal a shocking moment in Eleven’s history. Brace yourselves.
Season Four will begin six months after the end of Season Three’s massive mall battle. The crew will be separated for the first time. Some in California, some remain in Hawkins, and one key character is in a Soviet prison. The trailers for this season have been taking us backward on the timeline – back us to where this eldritch horror began.
This story started for us at Hawkins National Laboratory, and we’re going right back there this season. The first teaser dropped nearly a year ago gave us a glimpse at Dr. Martin Brenner walking the halls and some hints at what the kids there were doing.

The first minutes of Season 4 reveal the full scene – a violent tragedy and a revelation. Take note that it’s bloody, and it involves kids.
That’s a shocking opener. It was pretty clear that Brenner was extra cautious of Eleven in the first season. Now we know why. I’m wondering what the motivations behind her actions were. Anger? Mercy? Revenge? That doesn’t look like fear in her eyes. Eleven’s path this season will be challenging – she’ll have to face herself and her actions.
