The latest Rumor Engine is out from Games Workshop and this one is a textbook example of a good tease.

It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. Today’s teaser from a model from the future is quite interesting. But before I get into my theories, perhaps you should take a look for yourself.

“Like all Votann, the Rumour Engine is stuffed full of secrets lost within its wizened digital architecture, with no way of knowing when they might surface… or why. Here’s yet another blessing from the Ancestor Core.”

So what are we looking at here. We’ve got what looks like a stack of books. But what’s that in front of them? Is that a band saw? Or perhaps it’s a typewriter! Whatever it is, it has our curiosity.

Now, the next big question is “who would use such a thing?!” And that’s where we dive into the theories for this one. Right off the bat I’m getting Witch Hunter Vibes — but not from 40k.

Maybe it’s the books…But I could totally see an assistant with a Typewriter and a bag of books following them around. Kind of like how in most Supernatural episodes the real way they beat the baddie is with the power of knowledge.

The Ad Mech does use some old technology — but not that old. And I don’t think they are too fond of books either. But I could be wrong. In any case, this feels a lot more Age of Sigmar than 40k…but that’s just my take. If you’ve got ideas we’d love to read them in the comments!

You know who else loves books? Games Workshop.

What do you think? Who’s packing a Typewriter and a pile of books?
