Horus Heresy: Blood Angels Rules Preview
The Sons of Sanguinius are under the spotlight in today’s Horus Heresy rules preview. What will the Blood Angels do on the tabletop? Let’s find out!
Games Workshop is continuing their teasers for the rules of the different Legions in the Horus Heresy. Today, we have the Blood Angels rules to preview. How does this Legion do it’s thing without the Black Rage? Don’t worry — they still pack quite a punch.
“As their name might suggest, the Blood Angels revel in close combat, ever eager to tear up their foes with chain bayonets, elegantly-crafted power spears, or a size-30 boot if it’s all that’s available. Their barely-restrained Encarmine Fury is unleashed when charging into battle, making it easier to wound their victims – even fellow Space Marines can’t withstand a Baal-style beating.”

To kick things off we have a look at their Encarmine Fury. Right off the bat they are getting a bonus to wound rolls after a charge — even if the charge is disordered. Funnily enough, this rule also applies to vehicles and their Ram Attacks. It’s “just” a +1 boost to the strength of the attack however. Still, this makes the Blood Angels a fierce force on the charge.
The Blood Angels also bring some unique firepower to the fight. Famous for their Inferno Pistols, they gained that reputation during the Horus Heresy. It shouldn’t be a shock to see them in their wargear kit.
These weapons replace Plasma Pistols as an option for the Blood Angels. They are short range but extremely deadly and count as Melta weapons for all of the rules that impacts.
The Blood Angels might not have gotten quite as many previews from this spotlight as some of the other Legions. However, you can bet they have a lot more tricks up their gilded sleeves.
It’s more of a refined rage…
