A new update has dropped for Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. Update 5 makes the grey guys tougher in the face of Nurgle.

Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters has been an absolute blast since it came out. The blend of tactical XCom style combat with 40K is a match made in the grim darkness of the distant future. But after the latest update, things might look a little less dark for your grim grey guys. The developers dropped a new update earlier this week that makes Grey Knights tougher.

There are a few other changes as well. Chaplains and Apothecaries aren’t as uncooperative as they used to be. Now you can get litanies going even when your Grey Knights are incapacitated (sort of), the way the Emperor intended.

Let’s take a look at what all has changed.

Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters New Update Brings Resilience

First of all, the Grey Knights have been rebalanced. The biggest changes are the balance changes, as now your Grey Knights hang in there a little better. Have a look:

    • Grey Knights are now more resilient to becoming wounded in the early stages of the game on all difficulties.
    • All Grey Knights will now recover to full health after the Purgation Ritual is completed.
    • Grey Knights on assignment will have that status cleared.
All ship statuses such as character morale statuses will also be cleared.
    • Critically Wounded Knights will not receive augmetics in this way.
    • Enemy reinforcement groups are now smaller for Standard and Merciful difficulties. This will not affect current saves in combat on these difficulties but will affect subsequent combats on these difficulties.
    • Battlefield Medicine base cost adjusted to 2WP.
    • Closed some exploits that could be used to circumvent game mechanics.

On top of that, Daemonhunters’ performance has been greatly enhanced. Mostly optimizations to the a few things that were causing FPS issues. There were different ship room elements and hud issues for a few players. The game should be much smoother now.
