Warhammer 40K: The Unbeatable List – Dallas Open 2022 Edition
Nick Nanavati stepped away from the streaming desk and took home the gold at the Dallas Open 2022. Here’s his list that went all the way!
He was the only undefeated player, ran thru a bunch of strong opponents, and took it all the way with a custom craftworld with Hail of Doom and Masterful Shots. Or that Shoot ya till yer dead Craftworld.
How The List Works
The combo sets up a roll of a 6 to hit will cause and auto wound and the wound roll counts as a 6. Something no other auto hit roll has really done before. On top of that they are mixing it with ignoring light cover. You throw out a ton of Shuriken shots and you get a lot of AP -4 coming your way especially with some of them upgraded to flat damage 2. This list is all about the fire, fade, and murder you with bullets. Oh and he had a Webway gate that is usually thrown in a particular rough spot and loves to vomit out damage dealers.
Heck he even has the fun combo of the mortal wound Shuriken pistol that is going around. You roll a lot of 6’s for your strands of fate you can quickly and easily throw out 3+ mortal wounds on a target on top of anything else you decide to do. That is pretty dang spicy. There are so many Shuriken weapons it is just nutty to think how much damage this list can do.

Rising Aeldari
But we all knew Aeldari were powerful and just a few tweaks and changes with the Dataslate does show that it is an army to worry about. Heck personally speaking, Aeldari was my only loss at this event as well with a different combo. There were a ton of Nid lists as well as some sneaky Sisters of Battle piloted by that decent fella Jack Harpster. John Lennon one of the other AoW guys there brought Nids and did well as well. Those guys might know how to play 40k pretty dang good. Local guy Matt Allee was towards the top on Sunday with Magnus run Thousand Sons.
Overall the balance Dataslate did do well helping bring up a lot of Power Armored armies up in the standings with some Blood Angels hanging around, my Grey Knights, and some other Sisters armies. We’ll see what happens when Knights gets here and Chaos Space Marines later on in the year as people figure out the best way to beat Nids and Aledari.
Give it up for Nick for a well deserved victory!
