Elden Ring director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has stated their next game is nearing completion after nearly 6 years of development. There’s reason to think it may be Armored Core 6.

Recently, Miyazaki held an interview with 4Gamer, a Japanese video game site. The site is in Japanese, obviously, but you can find the Google Translation here.

Miyazaki was asked about a comment he made in 2018, where he stated that From Software had 2 unpublished games still in development, one of which was Elden Ring. When asked if the other game was still in development, he responded “Yes. Development is also in the final stages.”

The entirety of the interview is worth reading and gives some insight into From Software’s philosophy on development and how they choose which games to make. “The deciding factor for the choice I made earlier is, after all, ‘whether we want to make it.'”

There are speculations the game in question could be Armored Core 6. These rumors stem from the fact the title was reportedly mentioned in a consumer survey earlier this year. But that’s still wholly speculative. Back in January, ResetEra user, Red Liquorice, stated they had just finished a consumer survey about a new Armoured Core game with some screenshots and short video. The leaked screenshots can be found with this tweet.

Additionally, From Software is currently hiring. And one off the positions they are hiring for is a Character Artist. And under that job description it states the person in question will “Create 3D graphics related to various characters, such as humans, creatures, and mecha.”

So, Armored Core 6 isn’t entirely off the table. In fact, at this point it’s a near certainty.
