JOYTOY Blood Angels Death Company Intercessors $120
The Adeptus Astartes, commonly known as Space Marines, are incredibly powerful transhuman soldiers armed with potent weapons of war, and power armour that allows them to go toe-to-toe with the unspeakable horrors of the 41st Millennium. They’re organised into over a thousand Chapters, each with their own heraldry, history, and methods of warfare. The Blood Angels are the beatific sons of the primarch Sanguinius, the Great Angel, who lost his life at the bloody hands of Horus, Warmaster and arch-Traitor. Cursed by the Black Rage, a psychic scar upon the Chapter caused by their primarch’s death, many among the Blood Angels fall into an all-consuming fury and join the Death Company, hoping to be sent to a quick and honourable death.
Intercessors are the reliable core of a Primaris Space Marine force. Capable of levelling overlapping salvoes of firepower, these squads often form the flexible fighting core of newly-founded Primaris Chapters – though of course many established Chapters have eagerly leveraged their abilities, fielding them alongside Tactical Squads. Among the Blood Angels though, even the Primaris Space Marines may fall foul of the Black Rage, and their unique combination of strength and fury makes them a potent close combat unit.
This set of four 1:18 scale action figures from JOYTOY represents the sergeant and three Space Marines of a Blood Angels Death Company Intercessor squad – Brother Sergeant Samath, Brother Zohane, Brother Araclal, and Brother Garius. Each figure stands 12cm tall, has 25 points of articulation, and comes with a host of accessories, including two auto bolt rifles with underslung Astartes grenade launchers, two auto bolt rifles, Astartes chainswords, and heavy bolt pistols with removable ammo clip, plus pouches and holsters. Each of the figures also comes with numerous detachable, interchangeable hands that allow them to hold their equipment in a variety of poses.
The action figures are made of ABS PVC plastic, and come supplied in 63 pre-painted components. The paintwork features additional layers of detail, including Chapter and squad insignia, and incorporates edge highlighting to add depth and realism.
