Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness Roadmap Revealed
Games Workshop is shedding some light on the Age of Darkness with a new Horus Heresy Roadmap. Check out what’s coming down the pipe.
The new edition of Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness is upon us and GW has lit the path forward with a brand new roadmap. Now we know what’s on deck for the future of the Horus Heresy — at least on the tabletop.
“Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Age of Darkness is officially now available to pre-order, and this absolutely prodigious boxed set will be winging its way to you from the 18th of June. But that’s not where all this Heresy business ends – there’s already a legendary muster of new books, plastics and accessories, with plenty more coming to support the new edition this year and next.”

We’re smack-dab in June and we’re getting the Pre-orders for the first way. As you can see there are plans for downloadable PDFs later this month, too.
In July, we’re looking at more new miniatures as well as more downloads. It’s a little unclear but the new miniatures appear to start being released in june and have the arrow going down through October/November. They are showing the silhouettes of the Deimos Pattern Rhino, another Marine Armor Mk. and the Contemptor Dreadnought. It’s unclear if there are MORE miniatures on the way (we would assume so) or if it’s just those three kits?
It’s a little strange because the Deimos is already up for pre-order. And the Contemptor isn’t a new kit. Perhaps those are just placeholders for now. Or maybe that’s not the Deimos Pattern Rhino…
Anyhow, we are also getting a batch of PDFs every month from the looks of things. Rules for the Mechanicum are slated for August. Rules for non-marine Imperial Forces are slated for October. Now, what about some of your older Legacy models from Forge World that maybe don’t quite fit in those categories?
“These will all be supported by Legacies of the Age of Darkness, free downloadable PDFs which contain rules for old Forge World models that aren’t at present planned to return to the current range, so you can use your existing models in the new edition. And on top of that, two additional army lists will be available to download for other factions – the Daemons of the Ruinstorm, and the Imperialis Militia and Warp Cults.”
GW is also planning releasing more Exemplary Battles monthly via the Warhammer Community site. These are special scenarios, rules, and legendary units for your games set in the Horus Heresy. White Dwarf will also continue to support Horus Heresy gaming, too. All cylinders are firing for the Horus Heresy Era!
Now is a great time to get into the Horus Heresy — and now we know what’s coming thru October, too!
