What do you get when a Lustrian Hermet leaves the Jungle to join in on Blood Bowl? You get Star Player Estelle la Veneaux!

Blood Bowl has an eclectic mix of Star Players that you can add to various teams. And if I were to say there was a Star Player coming from the Jungles of Lustria you’d probably expect a Saurus or Kroxigor to head to the pitch, right?

Of course you would. And frankly, I don’t blame you for thinking that. That’s why this curve ball from Games Workshop is so delightful. Or dreadful if she’s on the other team. Anyhow, meet Estelle la Veneaux!

via Warhammer Community

“Hailing from deep within the jungles of Lustria, Estelle is an eccentric individual who’s decided – for reasons known only to her and her amphibian associates – that the best way to protect her home is to rise to Blood Bowl stardom. It would be just another amusing footnote in the history of the gridiron… if she wasn’t so outstandingly effective on the pitch.”

Apparently hanging out with all those amphibians has taught her a thing or two. Estelle la Veneaux has an impressive set of skills that she brings to the pitch. Her skills include Disturbing Presence and Guard to start. Plus, she’s just as agile as those upcoming Amazonians. That’s going to make her one mean defender!

But that’s not the only thing she’s bringing to support your team. She wouldn’t be a Star player without her own unique ability and in this case that’s Baleful Hex:

Okay, this ability is just brutal! Effectively shutting down an opposing player for a turn could literally win you a game. If you get your timing and position right, Baleful Hex can prevent an opposing player from having a tackle zone. It also (and possibly even more importantly) prevents them from being activated until the end of the their team’s next turn! It’s also on a 2+ which means it’s going to be pretty reliable to pull of…good thing it’s only once per game.
