Elden Ring Dev Website Renamed ‘Armored Core’ Sparking Mecha Hype
After fans discovered that Elden Ring developer From Software’s website had been renamed ‘Armored Core’ to search engines, mecha hope blooms.
News from the Lands Between might take players to the Final Frontier. At least that’s the hope and wild speculation in the air after fans discovered that From Software, developers of Elden Ring, had had their website renamed.
At least as far as Google was concerned. A quick search reveals that From Software’s main website now shows up with the title “armored core.”
The change led many to speculate that From Software’s would soon be announcing Armored Core 6.
From Software’s Next Game – Armored Core 6?
Back in 2016 From Soft announced they had at least three games in development. Two of them turned out to be Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring.
And in a recent interview, Elden Ring developer Hidetaka Miyazaki suggested that the third game was in the “final stages” of development.
As a result, many have speculated that an Armored Core announcement is impending. This would line up with reporting from earlier this year. Leaked screenshots from a consumer survey seemed to detail the fast, high-flying mecha combat that Armored Core is known for.
But nothing can be confirmed as of yet. And as many on the From Soft forums have pointed out, this is likely an error causing Google to pull the website’s name from the top alphabetical game listed, Armored Core.
But the fact remains, the hype is there. Fans are eager for third person mecha combat (me, hi I’m fans) and more beam blades than you can dash at.
In the meantime, back to the Lands Between and cowering behind a pair of Greatshields, because that’s the only way to fly. Even if you don’t really fly so much as plummet straight down to your death every time.
