Games Workshop: ‘Armies On Parade’ Marches On To The Next Leg
If you’ve been keeping up with your Armies on Parade entry this year then it’s time to move to the next leg: Wizards and Warmachines.
When Armies on Parade 2021 ended last year, Games Workshop announced they wanted to make a few changes to the Hobby Showcase. The main thing they wanted to change up was the structure of the event by making it all year round. To do that, they created new bi-monthly milestones. These were designed to help folks keep pace without having to race at the very last minute to complete their entries. So far we’ve had the following bi-monthly check-ins:
- January – February: New Year New Army
- March – April: Battlefield Behemoths
- May – June: Gods of War
Now that we’re in July, it’s time for July – August: Wizards and Warmachines!
“This opens up the brief to a huge range of possibilities from dark sorcerers like Ahriman, or those with better morals such as Gandalf™ (the Grey or the White), to epic bringers of destruction like the Warmaster Battle Titan or the more conservative Leman Russ tank.”
Depending on the army entry you’re working on this could be a great month to play catch-up. For example, if you were working on an Astra Militarum display knocking out a bunch of Tanks this leg seems like a great call. Or maybe you’re working on some magically infused wizards like the new Lady of Vines. Or you could go with a unit that is both a Wizard and Warmachine like the Grey Seer on Screaming Bell!
Whatever you’re working on for the Armies on Parade we wish you the best of luck. If you’re in need of some inspiration you can always hit up your favorite social media and search for hashtag #ArmiesOnParade2022 — there’s already a ton of awesome work shared by the community.
Oh and just because it’s Wizards and Warmachines doesn’t mean if you’re NOT working on one you shouldn’t share your work…Just keep making progress for the end goal of Armies on Parade 2022. November will be here before you know it.
Hmm…that new Chaos Combat Patrol could be a good way to dive in. It’s not too late to start, right?!
