Games Workshop is back with a brand new Rumor Engine and this one looks mighty choppy. What could it possibly be?

It’s Tuesday which means it’s that time of the week where Games Workshop teases us with an image from a model coming in the future. Today’s image looked like a really big knife to me at first  but we’ll get to all the speculation in a moment. For now, see it for yourself.

“Hello, Warhammer Community! Following a recent incident in which the previous Rumour Engine caretakers suddenly disappeared – something to do with giants in silver armour appearing out of nowhere – we’ve been brought on to steward this wondrous (and now horn-free) machine.”

Again, my initial reaction was “whoa, who stole Rambo’s Knife!” It does share a few similarities:

However, based on the tassle, the spike, and the attached studs, I’m thinking this is a polearm instead of just a really big knife. So now the question is which army would use such a big glaive-like polearm?

Well, the Slickblade Seekers from the Hedonites of Slaanesh use similar polearms. While they do have tassles and wicked looking blades, the image from the Rumor Engine doesn’t have any Slaaneshi markings on it. Not ruling them out just yet, but certainly moving them down on my list.

The new Chaos Legionnaires are another possibility. Their blades have lots of those jagged teeth on them. Perhaps GW is looking to expand that range in the future as they are the mortal followers of Be’lakor.

There’s also the chance they could be from a completely new set or faction. I’m not ruling anything out at this point. We just don’t have a lot to go on. But that’s where you come in! Part of the fun of the Rumor Engines is sharing your wild theories with the rest of us. So if you’ve got any ideas drop them in the comments and let us know what you think!

That’s a very large and very clean blade.
