“Ursa Major is a mutant who can transform into an enormous anthropomorphic bear. Ursa Major retains his human intelligence and capacity to talk when in this form. However, his personality becomes more primal, and his mind begins to slip if he stays in this altered state for several hours. Ursa Major possesses superhuman strength, stamina, and resistance to physical injury far greater than a real bear of comparable size.”

Ursa Major is an anthropomorphic bear and that translates to pretty much what you would expect out of a big ol’bear. He’s big, a little lacking in the speed department, and puts up quite the fight even though he’s “bear-handed.”  No seriously. That’s the name of the attack.

His basic attack hits at strength 5 and can cause bleed. His other attack is Bear-Armed Brawler. It does cost 3 energy, but it allows him to throw targets characters of size 4 or less. That’s also including the strength 7 attack that it is also! And speaking of throwing things, he can also fling terrain features of size 3 or less using his Ursine Temper.

Now, just because Ursa Major is a little slow doesn’t mean he can’t get around the board. Turns out he’s pretty deadly over short distances — a natural sprinter. At least went someone gets a little too close. His Charge power allows him to move and then attack. This burst of speed is almost the same distance as a long move. Ursine Surprise!

And there’s also his Aggressive ability. Each time he takes damage he can advance a short distance toward the attacker. So yeah…he’s going to close those gaps a lot quicker — even faster if you keep poking the bear.

“That’s it for our first look at the bear bones of this beast of a man!”

Puns and paws. Anygrowl, Usra Major is no minor threat. This mutant will get his claws in you once he gets his bearings. He’s no cub scout that’s for sure. He’s joining the Winter Guard very soon on the tabletop of Marvel: Crisis Protocol!
