MTG: Fortnite Secret Lair Previews
Magic and Fortnite crossing over was inevitable. Gaze into the abyss and see what awaits in the Fortnite Secret Lair previews.
Magic: the Gathering’s Universes Beyond initiative blurs the line between fictional universes. Whether it’s Street Fighter, Warhammer 40K, or infamously, The Walking Dead, there sure have been a number of crossovers.
The latest one is Fortnite, though, which is in a league all its own. After all, Fortnite is a billion-dollar property that’s strong enough to have memes for a variety of tastes.
Now it’s going to be a set of Magic Cards. Check em out.
Magic the Gathering Fortnite Secret Lair
The new set was first revealed by IGN, who point out that there are a few cards left to reveal. They were too secret for this point. But here’s what we’ve seen so far!
The Battle Bus kicks things off. And with the ability to draw a card on the attack, the only question remaining is, where are you dropping?
Battle Royale lends its name to both the genre of the game and this swanky sorcery that beefs up all your creatures before the attack.
It wouldn’t be Fortnite without dancing. And this one gives you a dance partner of your choice. Double up on your favorite creature or take on one of your enemy’s.
Supply Llama, Loot Piñata, whatever you call them, this card will ensure you’ve always got your best artifacts on hand.
The Cube makes an appearance as well. If you’ve got something powerful, or something you want to work around most traditional counters with, the Cube is a good backdoor strategy.
Crack the Vault is yet another way to tutor for what you need. And not bad at the cost of only three life.
Fortnite’s signature shrinking storm rounds out the set. Another boardwipe, because Magic loves not having any cards on the table.
Of course, we’re also getting a set of basic lands taken straight from Fortnite;
All you have to figure out is…
… where do you drop?
And where will you find the best loot?
But all of this isn’t out yet.
You’ll have to wait for July 21st
