MTG: WizKids Unveils New Capenna Miniatures
That’s a nice lookin’ miniature you got there, be a shame if anything happened to it. And in New Capenna, anything can happen.
WizKids unveiled a new line of New Capenna miniatures this week. This marks yet another time that WizKids has dabbled in WotC’s other, larger (more profitable) half. But it’s great news no matter who you are, because their new line is based on New Capenna.
And that means demons in suits. Angels in 30s attire. It’s basically a whole new campaign just waiting to happen. Come take a look at some of the first images below. The new set is expected to release in December 2022.
WizKids’ New Capenna Miniatures
This particular wave of miniatures takes key characters from the Streets of New Capenna booster set. These are unpainted miniatures at that. That means each miniature will come pre-primed and ready to paint. WizKids prides themselves on “deep cuts for easier painting.”
You can see some of their work below. Here’s a look at everything coming out in the New Capenna Miniatures line.
- Magic: The Gathering Unpainted Miniatures: Lord Xander, the Collector (MSRP $4.99)
- Magic: the Gathering Unpainted Miniatures: Falco Spara, Pactweaver (MSRP $4.99)
- Magic: The Gathering Unpainted Miniatures: Ob Nixilis, the Adversary (MSRP $4.99)
- Magic: The Gathering Unpainted Miniatures: Jetmir, Nexus of Revels (MSRP $4.99)
- Magic: The Gathering Unpainted Miniatures: Freelance Muscle and Rhox Pummeler (MSRP $8.99)
- Magic: The Gathering Unpainted Miniatures: Ziatora, the Incinerator (MSRP $39.99)
- Magic: The Gathering Unpainted Miniatures: Reservoir Kraken (MSRP $49.99)
Now, whenever you need a gang of demons, or even just a big art deco kraken, you’ve got ’em. And with each of these packs its own hobby project, you can customize them how you like.
WizKids hasn’t offered these up for pre-order yet. But likely once GenCon has come and gone, you’ll be able to snag these gorgeous lookin’ minis.
In the meantime, watch the streets of New Capenna, you never know who’s gonna end up there
