Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader Concept Art Reveals New Characters
New concept art shows off some of the characters you’ll adventure with in Owlcat’s upcoming Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader.
When Owlcat Studios, makers of Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous announced their 40K foray, we were excited. After all, a cRPG set in the grim darkness of the distant future? And in the finest traditions of 3/4ths view RPGs?
On top of all of that, it’s Rogue Trader, which is the ideal mode for an RPG adventure. Because you’ll play a Rogue Trader with a charter to explore the galaxy. What better hook for adventure in the Imperium could their be?

“The armchair-admirals at the Navy academies will have it that combat in space is a predictable, scientific affair, akin to a game of regicide.

Let’s start with the Rogue Trader art. Revealed just this past week from Owlcat, this shows off different Rogue Traders. Their charter: explore the far reaches of the galaxy, venturing beyond even the Astronomican if need be.
Owlcat describe different kinds of Rogue Traders. From the charismatic charmers, to diplomats, to even those who delve into alien technology and other heresies.
Whatever choices you make, it seems there’s a lot of room to be who you want to be.
NPCs
Owlcat also revealed some NPCs. Here we have Lord Captain Theodora von Valancius Massimo af Scarus. The Rogue Trader who gives the player character the torch, so to speak. You can see her in the trailer for Rogue Trader, she’s the one making the speech, and asking of the player “what will you be?”
Of course, it wouldn’t be Rogue Trader if you didn’t have a brush with the Warp. Here’s Idira Tlass, a diviner and a psyker who has been through the psychic wringer.
And every good Rogue Trader will need their right hand. In this case, it’s Abelard Werserian, a former first officer:
