Warhammer 40K: World Eater Units We Hope To See
The World Eaters are getting a new Codex. Here’s a few units we’re pulling from the annals of history that we hope make the jump to 40k.
With the World Eaters getting a codex sometime soon we got to thinking about what units we’d like to see added to the book. After, you can’t really build a codex off of one specialty unit even if they are Khorne Berzerkers. So what are some of the units we hope get brought into the codex? Well, we can take a look at a few other sources to see what’s likely and what could be a pretty big swing.
Angron
We’ll keep beating this drum until he shows up. We’ve got a good theory as to why he should make an appearance but we’ll have to see how this pans out.
Red Butchers
This a unit that is currently available from Forge World and has made an appearance in the Horus Heresy. These are basically Khorne Berzerkers in Terminator Armor. Could we see them make the jump to 40k? Oh we hope so!
Brass Scorpion
No, no, no. That’s a Greater Brass Scorpion. And while it’s easy to get them mixed up (because we’re basically talking about the same unit), I’m hoping for a Brass Scorpion that’s a little smaller. Taking a page from the Death Guard, I’m talking about something relatively similar is size to the Foetid Blight-Drone. Something that would fill a similar role as a “not-quite-a-dreadnought” but still a cool, unique model.
The Fleshmower version is what I’m thinking of.
But at the end of the day, some sort of daemon engine that the World Eaters can toss at their enemies to make a gory-splattered mess. Skulls for the Skull Throne and all that! Now, before you start saying that there’s no reason for the World Eaters to steal Death Guard ideas…I think the Death Guard owe them one.
Doom Blaster
This is the Doom Blaster from Epic. While it’s technically a Khorne Warmachine, I think this would fit perfectly within the World Eater’s wheel house. What better way to get your enemies to fight from behind a fortified position than to blow it up and force them to the battlefield?! That’s where the Doom Blaster could come in. And yeah, yeah…it looks a lot like the Plague Burst Crawler:
But this is exactly why the World Eaters need something similar — but more Khornate. They need a vehicle and the Doom Blaster fits the bill.
