A video has surfaced that is giving some fans hope that Moon Knight Season 2 will happen – but is it really?

Moon Knight ended with a cliffhanger of sorts (I thought it was a good close, but we’re in the time of endless sequels). The introduction of Jake Lockley, the third alter, does offer a lot of possibilities for another season and connection to the rest of the MCU. Fans got a blip of hope for those possibilities when a video showed up on TikTok.

The video appears to be posted by either director Mohamed Diab’s daughter or niece (in any case, her name is Haya). She asks the camera what her companions are doing in Cairo, turns the camera to Diab, and then Oscar Isaac comes into frame and says a thing. Diab also shared the TikTok on his Twitter account.

Is This Really Confirmation of Moon Knight Season 2?

I’m skeptical because this really looks like a video of friends hanging out and being goofy. Isaac also isn’t under contract with Marvel right now. If he were to come back that means a new contract and a (likely) hefty pay raise. The actor signed up for one season and hasn’t said anything that would make me think he wants to be an MCU regular. There was never talk about the show being anything more than on season. It’s done, even with its good reviews and calls for more from fans.

In the case that I’m being too conservative, I wouldn’t object to another season with the same cast and creatives if that’s the plan. I’ll watch it because I liked the first season, but I don’t need it. It’s fine as is. I’d rather see a spin off with Scarlet Scarab and Ammit, to be honest. More hippo, please.

MCU One-Shots

We’re too used to movies and shows getting renewed and given sequels beyond what should be the norm. The MCU is a prime example of it with its massive, intertwined movies (and now shows). It’s ok to have a one-shot series or movie. With things that are comic book based if you want more, pick up the books. That’s what I got from the end of Moon Knight – seek out the books and follow the character through his 47 years of existence.

We really should have more of these ‘this is it, this is all there is’ stories in the MCU. There are so many stories that can be brought to the screen without the tethers. Like the Marvel One-Shots series the studio released from 2011 to 2014. Maybe a little more stretched than that, but you get me. I want some A to B plots in two hours with no post-credit scenes or six self-contained episodes that don’t acknowledge the rest of the MCU.

Is that so much to ask?
