MTG: True Blue Dominaria United Spoilers
More Dominaria United spoilers abound today. This time with control and tempo, because it’s all about blue. Which means nobody has any fun.
Sometimes, it’s not enough to win a game of Magic. You also have to make sure that your opponent loses. And when you want to do that? It’s time to break out the blue cards.
Nothing says “oh you thought you’d get to actually play a card?” like throwing down a blue deck. But, the times are changing, at least a little. And blue is in a pretty interesting spot for Dominaria United, at least according to these spoilers.
Dominaria United – Blue Spoilers
We get a taste of blue’s favorite tactic in this first batch of Dominaria United spoilers. The Coral Colony is a great mill engine. Whether you need to mill yourself, your opponent, or the player at the table next to you.
We also get a look at some of blue’s absolute value. Aether Channeler brings a variety of effects, there’s a lot of card draw, and that seems like it’ll play well with blue and red.
Of course it wouldn’t be Dominaria United if there weren’t Phyrexians oozing out of every surface. And that’s true with blue too. The Defiler of Dreams has the same “pay life instead of [color] mana” effect we’ve seen on other Phyrexian defilers. And players of Djinn will find some amazing friends in this batch of Dominaria United blue spoilers.
From Fountain Djinn to Haughty Djinn there’s all sorts of interesting stuff for Djinn decks in Dominaria United. Also plenty of ways to shut down all sorts of spells. Including a counter for creature spells and one for noncreature spells.
Blue also commands a lot of illusion, which might help Planeswalkers fend off the Phyrexians.
Everything certainly seems to be getting desperate, even in the islands of Dominaria.
But perhaps the Tolarian Academy and the Vodalians can come together.
