Andor is almost exactly a month away, and these are the things we can’t wait to see play out in live action.

The premier of Andor is less than a month away and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is back in theaters after seven years. And for everybody who’s headed back to the IMAX to see it once more, Rogue One has included a ten-minute sneak peek of Andor. Leaks of the sneak peek were floating around Twitter for a  bit, but seem to have been removed by now. Regardless, we’re just as excited as we’ve ever been to get more of Cassian Andor’s story in the upcoming series. This is what we hope we can look forward to seeing play out on the small screen.

Spy Work

We know that at one point Cassian Andor was a Fulcrum agent like Ahsoka Tano and we’ve seen in the trailers that he will be doing some amount of imperial infiltration. Andor’s true talents lie in collecting intelligence and there are nearly endless ways to reintroduce him as a true secret agent character. Well-planned undercover work – that will of course go off the rails – might be exactly what we need from this show.

(No) K-2SO

I know, I know. We won’t be seeing K-2SO in the first season of Andor. More than likely, this is the right choice. It looks like they’ll be covering the start of Cassian’s life and Rebel Alliance career and K-2 won’t come in until later in the story. Plus, introducing brand new characters that we may or may not see again in the future adds an air of weight and higher stakes compared to previous shows that simply returned to characters we already know the future of. Of course, I don’t want new characters introduced just to kill them off- but it would be nice to not know what the future holds for the entire cast.

But Tony Gilroy, Andor showrunner, has already promised a “spectacular” debut for K-2 in the future and we have high hopes for seeing him in season two. Until then, we already know how Cassian and K-2 meet from the comics and can only hope for these scenes to be faithful and just as chaotic and fun in live action.

What is Andor’s Real Motivation

Throughout Rogue One, Cassian Andor was something of a mystery. We never learn anything real or substantial about his past, his history, or his motivations. And I’m pretty excited to know more about all of that from pretty much the moment the show starts. From how the Empire radicalized him into action at a young age to what keeps him pushing through some of the hardest and most dangerous missions, I want to know everything about who Cassian really is.

What are you looking forward to seeing in Andor? Are you excited to meet brand new characters or do you enjoy seeing known characters expanded upon? Are you disappointed that K-2 won’t be in this season or are you happy to get to know some other characters for a while? Let us know in the comments!
