Total War: Warhammer 3 – Devs Reveal New Skaven And Chaos Endgame Plans
Total War devs revealed new plans for endgame scenarios for Skaven and Chaos players in the upcoming release of Immortal Empires.
Immortal Empires is in the air. With release date just a week away, the anticipation is palpable. Chewy even. Like something a Hound of Khorne might find to gnaw on for a while.
Speaking of Chaos, the Total War devs recently addressed the endgame, or lack thereof for some of the more destructive factions like Chaos and Skaven. With Immortal Empires on the way, new plans are in the works.
Immortal Empires – Chaos And Skaven Endgame Teased
Obviously the developers don’t want to spoil everything. But they have received the feedback that some factions just don’t have an endgame plan. As they mention in the post, they Chaos Invasion endgame has been in play for six years now. But they’re hoping to try something a little different:
The first wave of scenarios have been setup to pose a variety of different threats (including the forces of Order), with the goal of creating more interesting and replayable campaigns—as well as allowing the player to customise their own experience. That said, we’ve always been planning to include additional scenarios in future updates, and we’ve got some very exciting ideas in mind for Chaos and Skaven in particular.
The system has been designed to make it relatively simple for us to add new scenarios (and expand on the existing ones). As we continue to support Immortal Empires after the 23rd August release, we’re also going to be adding more customisation options, more scenarios, more ways to interact with the scenarios (both before and after they trigger), and a few more surprises. Look to the patch notes when we go live for details about the first post-release addition we’re adding after 2.0.
Exciting times if you’re in it for the long haul.
Where will you conquer first?
