Warcry: 6 More Warbands Teased – And They Aren’t Just Chaos Cultists
Games Workshop has some big plans for Warcry with 6 more warbands for the latest season. Get ready for more warbands and terrain coming soon!
We already had a rough idea from that roadmap image for Warcry’s new season. But now, we’ve got even more info of what’s coming to a skirmish tabletop near you!
Warcry: 6 More Warbands
“What’s more, each one will contain two brand-new warbands. Yes, brand-new – no upgrade sprues, no existing kits. These warbands are all 100% original, and they’re drawn from factions across the Mortal Realms, not just those in the thrall of Chaos. Ssshh, don’t tell Archaon. Plus, you’ll be able to use these new miniatures in your games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar.”
Let’s break this all down really quick. First up, expect a new battle box for Warcry every 3 months or so. Each box will feature two brand new warbands as well as new terrain kits. This is similar to how Games Workshop is supporting Kill Team. It’s also a great way to build up a terrain collection. Expect these new kits to fit right in with the rest of your Gnarlwood kits.
We know that these 6 warbands will also be 100% completely new and there will be two per boxed set. We also know that these warbands won’t just be chaos-themed warbands, too. In fact, there’s a teaser in the video:
Sure looks like a Skink with a blowpipe to me.
This is exciting news for fans of Warcry and for fans of Age of Sigmar in general. Why? Well these warbands will also have rules for use in Age of Sigmar, too.
We also have the names of the 3 upcoming sets:
- Sundered Fate
- Bloodhunt
- Nightmare Quest
With names like those you can start to guess the contents of the boxes. Clearly, one of the warbands is Seraphon…and I’m going to go out on a limb and guess they are in the Sundered Fate box. But who are they battling and who else could be in the other two boxes?
The last big teaser from GW is that you can expect these battle boxes to have faction specific campaigns as well — just like the Warband Tome: Rot and Ruin.
Games Workshop is also offering stores the option to get Organized Play kits for Warcry. If you’re interested in a great way to community build and play Warcry, as your FLGS about how you can participate.
Bloodhunt has to be Vampires vs Khorne, right?!
