Warhammer 40K Next Week: Codex Chaos Daemons Arrives With New Chaos Cultists And Possessed Marines
It’s a cavalcade of heresy this week, with the arrival of Codex: Chaos Daemons and a swath of Carpenter-esque new minis.
Chaos loves to shift and change everything, and that’s just in general. Sure, Tzeentch is the master of change, but all of Chaos loves to just reach into a human’s DNA and see what happens if it just fiddles around a bit.
That’s why they call it the Warp. And nowhere is that more prevalent than in these John Carpenter looking Chaos Cultists and Marines, but first, the big new book: Codex: Chaos Daemons.
Codex: Chaos Daemons
That’s right the book of daemons is here next week. Each of the four Ruinous Powers gets their time in the spotlight in this book. They’ll each have their own collection of new datasheets to update your infernal armies. And adding to those, new Relics, Stratagems, Warlord Traits, and psychic powers. Well only three sets of new Psychic Powers.
What Khorne lacks in psychic ability, though, his forces make up for in ferocity.
But more enticing than that, are the new upgrades for Exalted Daemons, new powers for Warp Storms, and the new Army of Renown: the Disciples of Be’lakor who get Stratagems and Psychic Powers all their own.
Now that that’s out of the way, onto the possessed!
Accursed Cultists, Possessed Marines, And A Daemon Combat Patrol
Oh just look at these beautiful new Chaos Cultists. The Accursed Cultists have become one with the power of Chaos, and it can’t be good for their longterm health. But this “nightmarish amalgam of mortal and daemon” will serve as a Troops choice for your CSM friends.
And with them you’ll get Shambling Mutants and massive Torments, both of which are surprisingly resilient. They can reform from lethal injuries and continue the tide of Chaos unrelenting.
And if mortals can do it, Astartes can too, and better. Which is what you get with the Possessed. They invite a daemon into their bodies, gaining in speed and toughness, making them devastating on the assault.
And finally with the release of their Codex, you can get yourself a Khornate Combat Patrol. This collection of 34 minis: a Bloodmaster, three Bloodcrushers, 10 Flesh Hounds, and 20 Bloodletters, will form a bloody front line for any Khorne army.
All this next week!
