Helpful Arch Light from Game Craft Miniatures Will Illuminate Your Workspace
See every detail in your minis when you’re painting with Game Craft Miniatures’ LED workbench light. Never miss a mould line again.
Before I start: I was provided this product for review by Game Craft Miniatures.
Now, straight up, this is a product that I did not expect to like as much as I do. This thing is great! It literally bathes your miniatures in light from all angles This light contains two 21″ long LED Light Strips that work great as a fill light. This helps to remove the shadows you see when working with traditional lights.
This LED Workbench Light is absolutely fantastic! I did not think that I would like it as much as I do. It literally bathes your miniatures in light making it much easier to paint them.
It comes pre-assembled. All I had to do was attach the feet to the arch and the light was ready to go. This is how the light comes packaged. Oh yes – this is made in America too!
What Is It Good For?
Well, illumination for painting, building, and photographing miniatures.
This lamp is great for painting miniatures, building models, and even for photography. Personally, I find the lamp best when mixed with ambient light while painting or building minis. When taking pictures, I will either pair up the lamp with some daylight temperature utility lights or use the light on its own. For the picture below, I used only the LED light.
This lamp really works well for painting, building, and photographing miniatures. My depth of field is a little off her, but what I want to demonstrate in this picture is how nicely it picks up the details on the entire body of the miniature. I took this (above) using just the LED Workbench Lamp by Game Craft Miniatures.
For my review of Wargames Atlantic Skeletons, I used only the LED arch lamp for that photoshoot.
If you want to know more about using the Game Craft Miniatures lamp for photography, I go deep into it in my YouTube review below. For this overview, I am going to quickly show you the difference in the photos based on how I use the light.
Below are the different lighting configurations that I used to review the LED Lamp and how the images looked. The extra lights that I used are 100W equivalent Daylight Temperature utility lights diffused with tissue paper. As you can see, this lamp works really well for miniature photography.
